I am often asked what is the best way to transport an All-Crop. Well, there are a few ways to skin this cat, one of which it to diassaenble the major sections to load on a trailer without going over-width. Here is how Mike Kramer did it.

You mean we needed a wide load permit to haul an allcrop? We hauled 2 of them, one about 50 miles and the other 150. We’re from OH and we hauled one streight down 315 and I-270, the other we hauled streight down I-70. And no one complained. Whats better is we loaded it on a 3ft tall trailer (with no dove) and pulled it behind a 1978 Chevy blazer. Good times…

My dad has been collecting AC combines for many years, and has a 40 to the self propelled 100. All of the pull types we have pulled behind our 82 Ford ton truck. Dad made a special hitch that is offset to the passenger side of the truck, which allows the combine to pull on our side of the roadway. We have lights that we hook to the back and a wide load sign and down the road we go. My folks live in central Iowa and have pulled combines from all parts of the state, and also a pull type AC with a corn head attached from the Minnesota border. We have extra rims with good tires we take to swap out for the trip. Just this last week end we pulled a 60 home that was like my grandpa’s first combine, had a few bullet holes in it but was all complete.
